Ward office

　Ward offices not only accept your alien registration but also provide you most of familiar services for daily life such as family registration, pension and taxes. In addition, they’ve been advancing regional comprehensive public administrations as well as administrative services over the counter, closely working with branch offices which oversee the region, such as civil engineering office, waste collection office and park construction and maintenance office, and also with related administrative agencies.
　Each ward has some ward residents centers (branches) which provide a part of services of the ward office. Since the services provided by the ward resident centers (branches)are different depending on the branches, we recommend you to check it at each ward office in advance.
　Here, we introduce information of each office of Nakano ward, Suginami ward and Shinjyuku ward where many students of Tokyo Nakano Language School usually live.

However, holidays of facilities such as libraries and cultural or sports facilities may be different from that mentioned above, please make it sure in advance.


Alien registration certificate


　Alien registration certificate is equivalent to an identification card for alien residents in Japan. Therefore, they are obliged to make the registration and required to carry the certificate at all times, in order to ensure their trouble-free life in Japan. The person who actually lives should apply for the registration at foreign registration counter of residential department in every ward office in the residential area.
